The museum is located in the AMI NU "OMA" building at 19 Chornomorska str., the left wing of the first floor of the building. The exposition occupies five halls with a total area of ​​296 square meters. meters.

The first hall. The exposition of this hall covers the history of navigation in the Azov Sea from ancient times to 1890, dedicated to the establishment and operation of a regular fleet, the development of seaports.

Preserved exhibits on sailing Zaporizhzhya Cossacks on the Azov, the protection of their maritime borders in the Azov-Black Sea basin.

All this is confirmed by copies of historical monuments of that era, models of ships, picturesque paintings.

The second hall. The exposition reflects navigation in the Sea of ​​Azov from the beginning of the XX century to the 40-ies, including the First World War and civil war.
Pictures, models of ships, copies and authentic documents quite fully reflected the role of the Azov ports in the actions of the tsarist government of Russia during the First World War, as well as the creation and role of the Red Azov military flotilla in hostilities against the fleet of the White Army.

In the same hall there is an exposition devoted to mastering, studying the Arctic G.Ya. Sedova on the ship "Holy Fock".

Third Hall. The exhibition is dedicated to the work of the AMP from 1925 to 1945.

On the basis of copies and authentic documents, models and parts of ships raised from the bottom of the sea, shows the activity of the Red Azov military fleet, workers of the Sea of ​​Azov shipping in prewar years and during the Great Patriotic War.

Fourth room. The exhibition shows the restoration and development of AMP after the end of the Second World War, the history of marine education in the Azov region.

The eleven booths with copies, original documents, original photographs and models of ships show the heroic work of the Azov Sea sailors and the AMP team in expanding the volume of cargo transportation. Three booths talk about the history of maritime education in Mariupol - from nautical schools to the Maritime Institute.

The fifth hall is thematic exhibitions and exhibitions: "The city of Mariupol in the life of the Heroes of the USSR", "Liberation of Mariupol in September 1943, Marine landing operations", "Individual swimming I.G. Kirichenko on yachts "Blues" and "Lady L" in North America and around the globe "," Marine flora and fauna ".


Head of the museum is Galina Anikina
